I'm so glad your trip to Communities Rising was memorable and successful! I love the bubble photo and hearing the specific story of one of the hostel boys. I also couldn't agree more with your statement "The individuals we worked with far surpassed our hopes and stand as prime examples of how programs such as TMS can overcome immense cultural and language challenges with the right help." Siva is so great with the students and the first TMS workshops I did at CR certainly wouldn't have been a success without him! Did Brother Philip let you drive the motor bike?

These projects are great and I'm so excited that TMS has reached a point where media production is incorporated into a standard course! I liked hearing about your process and teaching relationship to the projects as well. There's always so much to learn while teaching!

Claire,

I can't believe its taken me such a long time to respond to your very kind and thoughtful message. I remember this day at Amatigulu well. You and Danica came back to the computer lab in complete disbelief. It really goes to show how learning styles differ dramatically between different nations/school systems and the message you gave the students that day is what I wish every one of our TMS students here received every day. "You matter. Your voice matters. Your personhood matters and you should share it." Absolutely.

Thank you for reading and I hope you are well!

These photo stories are wonderful showcases of your students' imaginations and technical skills. I love that the biryani story highlights some local Hyderabadi culture and that the rainy day story features some of the drama so loved in Bollywood plots!
